The CAST CHALLENGE aims at offering open-source solutions for Security Tokens markets’ stakeholders compatible with the CAST Framework. It seeks to respond to existing problems met by financial institutions, most notably investors, to find efficient ways for the use of Distributed Ledger Technology and Security Tokens at bank-grade level.

The CAST (Compliant Architecture for Security Tokens) Framework is a new market standard and open source set of computer code components designed for the issuance, custody and trades of securities on a blockchain. It has been trialed and approved in substantial issuances made for years by systemic regulated institutions (banks, supranationals, brokers, etc.). The CAST CHALLENGE is the first fully online digital event related to the CAST Framework.

Create standards to translate CAST into ISDA-ICMA-ISLA Common Domain Model / ICMA Bond Data Taxonomy compatible language

Which attributes, functionalities and definitions for a CAST compatibility to ISDA's Common Domain Model (CDM)? To ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT)? To ANNA's work on digital assets’ taxonomy? This use case will consist in the integration within CAST smart contracts of the ongoing standardization processes of the international trade associations ISDA, ICMA and ANNA.

Use Case 2

Build on-chain settlement (Delivery-versus-Payment) business rules/tooling

How to provide on-chain the delivery-versus-payment of security tokens? This use case will focus on the creation of business rules (and potentially computer code) designed to facilitate “on-chain DvP” of security tokens transactions based on CAST framework.
